We’re honored to be recognized as one of the 2024 “Best Places to Work in Southeastern Michigan” by Crain’s Detroit Business.

McKenna was selected for our commitment to work-life balance, workplace flexibility, and culture. We strive to build camaraderie among team members whether they work in the office, remotely or on hybrid schedules.

Highlighted in our award was our team member recognition program, which includes Fist Bump awards, gift cards and bonuses for completing certifications, as well as our paid time off for both personal and community service.

Crain’s partnered with Workforce Research Group to evaluate McKenna’s workplace policies, practices, benefits, and demographics. The selection process also included a team member questionnaire focused on experience, role satisfaction, workplace culture, training, leadership and work-life balance. Specifically, the survey asked about paid time off, benefits, “fun” perks, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and much more.

In accepting this honor, McKenna President John Jackson said: “It’s incredibly gratifying to be recognized as a Best Place to Work. We are proud to offer a positive and rewarding workplace culture that is committed to supporting our team members, both in their professional and personal lives. Our people-first culture and values set us apart and, we believe, result in happier employees and excellent service for all of our clients.”

For the past 46 years, our team of planning and design professionals have made lasting positive impacts on the communities we serve. Our multidisciplinary team brings a tailored hands-on approach to projects from our headquarters in Northville and offices in Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo.
