
Associate Planner
Noah G. Bussell
Noah has been an Associate Planner with McKenna since 2024, where he brings experience in master plan development, mapping and spatial analysis, ordinance writing, grant management, and parks and recreation planning. He is passionate about forward-thinking planning practices and bringing in all voices to maximize comprehensive outcomes to help meet the needs of all communities. He has worked across many planning disciplines, including land use, zoning, economic development, transportation, environmental planning, parks and recreation, broadband, and placemaking. Before joining McKenna, Noah worked in planning consulting, renewable energy permitting, regional economic development, and technology access. He has also held GIS support roles within MDOT and the U.S. Department of Defense. He strongly believes in the power of maps and spatial data products to maximize community and economic impacts.
Noah holds a Master of Urban Planning degree with a concentration in Urban Economic Development from Wayne State University and a B.S. in Urban and Regional Planning with a Minor in Geographic Information Science from Michigan State University. He is also Chair of MAP’s Emerging Planning Professionals Committee. A lifelong aviation enthusiast, Noah volunteers with restoring a Consolidated PB4Y-2 Privateer at Michigan Flight Museum and a Curtiss JN-4 Jenny at Selfridge Military Air Musem.
