As our Graphic Designer, you will be joining a team responsible for creating visually appealing designs for a variety of projects: from large multipage documents to project branding to public engagement materials to presentations (just to name a few). The ideal candidate is passionate about design, a whiz with Adobe Creative Suite, has a trained eye for detail, is an organized multi-tasker, thrives in a fast-paced environment, is a team player, and has a go-getter, roll up your sleeves attitude with a good sense of humor!

Our Intern will work closely with the team of McKenna planners to develop and provide on-time, on-budget planning and design work that is of the highest technical and creative quality. The ideal candidate has a good understanding of graphic communication and is in their junior or senior year of study whether in urban planning, urban design, architecture, or landscape design. In addition, the candidate should have the ability to think critically and creatively, be able to adapt to changing environments, and be able to work well independently and as part of a collaborative team.

This full-time position will be responsible for bringing our new communications plan to life, serving as both a strategist and a tactician – someone who can think big picture and get work done. You will support McKenna’s day-to-day communication initiatives, including client and staff communications, website and social media management, media relations, advertising, graphic design, and other types of content creation. This position will work a hybrid schedule based out of our Northville headquarters in support of our three Michigan offices.
